I am a lawyer with the firm, specialising in commercial and property law (with particular expertise in retail and commercial leases), insolvency, debt recovery, dispute resolution and estate planning.
I have experience across a broad range of matters, including drafting complex leases and agreements to lease, acting for both vendors and purchasers on sale of business transactions, partnership disputes and partnership breakdowns, advising on the Personal Property Securities Act, acting on behalf of liquidators and advising individuals in relation to bankruptcy, debt recovery proceedings including enforcement action, preparation of shareholders’ agreements, creation of discretionary and unit trusts, and preparation and advice on wills, powers of attorney and appointment of enduring guardians.
Prior to joining Laycock Burke Castaldi Lawyers in mid-2017, I worked at a mid-size Newcastle firm for eight years, first as a paralegal and then as a lawyer following my admission to practice in 2012.
I have a special interest in mental health and well-being in the legal profession, and volunteered my time at various local crisis support organisations while completing my honours degree in psychology in 2008. I am also a strong supporter of junior netball in Lake Macquarie, and am a member of the judiciary of a local association.
