I am a director of the firm, specialising in employment law, industrial relations and work health and safety.

I have specialised in employment law and industrial relations since 1996.

I act for employers in a wide range of industries, in all aspects of employment law, industrial relations and discrimination laws. I assist both behind the scenes with the provision of timely and proactive advice, and am also involved in litigation in the employment and discrimination tribunals (including the Fair Work Commission, ADB and AHRC), the Federal Court, the Federal Circuit Court and the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Over the past 20 years, I have gathered considerable experience in all elements of employment law, including (amongst others): drafting employment agreements and employment policies/procedures, interpretation of contracts and industrial instruments, enforcement and challenge to restraint provisions, representation of employers in unfair dismissal, adverse action, industrial action and discrimination claims and providing general assistance with all simple and basic employment and industrial law queries.

Prior to founding Laycock Burke Castaldi Lawyers with Julien and Trevor, I was a principal at a similar sized Newcastle firm and, before that I worked as a partner at several large scale commercial law firms in Sydney for a number of years. I also spent a few years in London working in a large scale commercial law firm (as an employment lawyer), and was admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.
